Turbo Monday at FAC

Man, the competition was HEATED up in that joint today.  The class started off "in sleep mode" but quickly seized the moment by the time TURBO #2 hit the fan.  Right corner was missing some peeps "I won't mention any names" but we held down the fort.  I am gonna start auctioning off spots to the highest bidder.  LOVE Caroline's idea of parting the waters and facing one another.  Motivates people to "bring it" and burn it up.  1 hour at 1071 calories...YOU JUST GOT SERVED!

Sunday Crazy Turbo Take 2

Well, I knew I was gonna be feeling this class.  It was my first Turbo with temporary inserts so could not take it to the level I normally do.  Not to mention, the one too many Margaritas Saturday night along with an awesome chili releno.  I had my own slip and slide at the front all to myself so I had no one else to blame.  The room was a bomby 76 degrees and 98% humidity when we left it.  Competitive Turbo was on-fire and left corner turning was it up 24 Style.  1 hour and 987 calories.  Not bad for a gal with one foot!

Feet Update...

Well, as you may have noticed, I have not been posting caloric burns since Tuesday of this week.  I sustained a very painful foot energy.  I love high impact cardio but it was taking its toll on the balls of my feet.  I began my search for the "perfect" shoe and have been trying different brands out.  I was sold a pair of Asics which really did a number on my feet and never really had a chance to heal.  It all came to a head this past Tuesday as my feel were a bloody mess when I finished.  I was unable to put all my weight on either of my feet for a couple of days.  I was instructed to lay off shoes and any kind of "bouncing" until I could get in to see a Podiatrist.  She proceeded to lance, drain and x-ray the right foot.  There was not a tear or fracture of any kind but it was discovered that I had a birth defect in the ball of that foot.  I was fitted for orthopedic inserts and was given temporary inserts to try out.  I was under the impression I needed more "cushion" for the balls of my feet when in fact I needed less.  The balls of my feet are where my foot reaches the ground first, therefore it would be best to raise the rest of my foot so that the weight is evenly distributed.  The insert actually has a hole for the ball of my foot to rest in so that when I come down from a tuck-jump, the entire forward foot lands with the same amount of impact evenly distributed.  I am glad I went and had them checked and even though the "right" shoes are very important, so is knowing your feet.  Sometimes investing in a professional is well worth the time and money.  I know a lot of you have the same issues so I hope I had shed some light on the subject for you.  I plan to be back in the gym by Sunday and will begin the caloric burn posts again.  Till then, WORK HARD OR GO HOME!

Turbo Tuesday...

WOW...93% humidity when we were done with that room.  Melissa brought down the house today.  I was slippin, slidin and SWEATIN all over the place.  Where did that fan come from?  I tried to position myself right in front of it since sucking that wet air was about to give me a heart attack.  We went strait for 55 minutes hard, 4 turbos (hard ones with floor touches and jump tucks all over the place) and then last 5 minutes of abs without a mat...I need some padding!  Bandages held up well but I can't put pressure on the calls of my feet right now and am looking for a podiatrist ASAP.  It must be a common problem since they are booked clean out into the middle of MARCH. I will have no foot by then.  1 hour total at 1017 calories.  Stay tuned for PiYo Wednesday which I am looking forward too.  BARE FEET are my friend for the next 24 hours.

Fit Club Insanity

Well, despite hic-ups with audio and visual equipment, we had a good turn-out for the Fit Test portion of Insanity.  It was a difficult 24 minutes but the goal was to record what you were able to accomplish just stating out and then check yourself again with the Fit Test in a month to see how you have improved.  I could tell drastic changes in myself since I have not completed a Fit Test since I started and finished the program some time ago.  My numbers more than doubled.  It is only 24 minutes but still managed to squeeze out 585 calories to add to my day yesterday.  I was beat.  Thanks to those who came out to join us and remember, we are there every week Monday nights at 7pm.  We host a new video each week so you can try it out.  Come join us again next week.  Until then....WORK HARD OR GO HOME!

Turbo Monday

Turbo Round 38 was insane in the membrane.  FAC brought down the house.  Kids were out ot school but dedicated kickboxers showed up to kick butt and take some names.  A little healthy competition between right and left side turned up the volume.  I am sure calorie counters were out of control.  Turbo for 1 hour and then SLOW push-ups and finished up with some 100s.  1027 calories.  Now some rest before we bring it INSANITY style tonight at the Field House.  Let's get BANANAS YO!

Sunday Crazy Turbo

This was one for the books.  I initially started class with no energy and then killed it mainly because the energy in the room was ON FIRE!  These Sunday peeps come to sweat and have fun doing it.  Splitting the room in half and facing one another for some good old compeptition pushed people to their "limit and beyond.  1  hour and then 20 SLLOW PAT STYLE push-ups at the end at 1222 calories.  What a way to start the week.

Spin @ 24 Hour Fitness in Frisco was CRAZY this morning.  The stage show was one hilarious and MOTIVATING experience.  This is no ordinary spin class.  We have one hot instructor, one MARINE (yours truly) and our token SPIN Expert sqeezed in the middle.  It was an intense hour of spinning with some jamming tunes!  I rode 4.3 miles for 998 calories...way to BRING IT Frisco.

Athletic Training...

This week's Wednesday night class was INSANE!  One for the books.  I laid out some cones and we ran lines and then did laps after mucho squats and lunges.  People were cryin but smilen.  I burned 835 calories so I know others burned more since I was teaching and needed to reserve air for speaking purposes.  We did about 5/1 minute planks with some tri-cep push-ups mixed in and then some planks with oblique leg lifts.  Sweatin all around before we even got out of the warm-up.  If you live close enough to join, come hang and sweat with the best'of em.  Until tomorrow...sleep well and let's do it again in the AM!

Wednesday's Workout...

Strength and Balance for an hour at 677 calories.  It's certainly not the anaerobic workout I am used to but the strength part is just as hard.  Planks with weights was extremely challenging.  I look forward to this class again just to improve on my strength and poses without losing my balance.  Stay tuned for evening update after Athletic Training...football runs anyone?

Turbo Tuesday...

Well, its been a week since I was diagnosed with the flu and I am still not 100%.  I do feel 100% better but that virus takes a lot out of the body.  I was able to complete 60 minutes of anaerobic training and burned approximately 947 calories which is about 200-300 lower than my usual.  I am still pleased with the TamiFlu and highly reccomend getting tested for the flu upon first onset of symptoms.  It is my understanding that if left untreated, can lead to a slew of other problems or recovery could take 2-3 weeks.  I am very thankful I did not pass along to the rest of the family.  Stay tuned for workout and caloric burn tomorrow.  Total Body XT in the morning and then Insanity tomorrow evening.  I am sure it will prove a butt busting kinda day.  BRING IT OR GO HOME!
